Margaret McLoughlin or Maggie received her Master’s in Social Work from University of Denver in 2022 after a career change from the apartment leasing environment. She started to work with immigrants who were victims of trafficking, often helping with social, emotional, and physical needs. Then she worked with adolescent girls in day programming, leading weekly DBT and art therapy groups. This gave her experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, suicidal ideations/attempts, self-harm, compulsions, phobias, sexual abuse, sexual identity, and crisis intervention. She also loved planning therapeutic field trips! Most recently she worked in a residential facility as a primary therapist for adolescents struggling with significant childhood trauma, sexual trauma, dysfunctional family systems, sexuality and identity searching, trauma resolution, substance abuse struggles, and transitions to/from incarceration. She held a weekly male childhood sexual trauma group during this time and was responsible for leading family therapy sessions with adolescents. As a therapist there, she improved her crisis intervention skills and helped her clients transition home in the most successful way possible. Maggie is a fierce advocate who is willing to build and put time into her clients. Outside of work she enjoys walking her dog, watching the Baltimore Ravens on Sundays, and going to concerts.
