With over a decade of experience, Korissa is a dedicated therapist who specializes in helping individuals overcome trauma and addiction. She believes that addiction often stems from unresolved trauma, and her therapeutic approach focuses on addressing this root cause.
Korissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), and Nationally Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Psychology and has received extensive training in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. She graduated summa cum laude with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.
Having personally navigated her own struggles with trauma and maladaptive coping, Korissa understands the importance of healing and self-care. This experience shapes her deep commitment to supporting clients on their journey and emphasizing the role of self-care in lasting recovery.
Outside of therapy, Korissa enjoys the natural beauty of the Roaring Fork Valley, where she hikes, skis, and soaks in hot springs. She practices yoga and treasures time with her family.
A Message from Korissa:
"My path to becoming a therapist was deeply influenced by my personal experiences with trauma and the healing process. I believe in the power of confronting our pain to transform it, and I am dedicated to guiding others through that transformative journey. Creating a space for healing is at the heart of my work, both for myself and for my clients."
