Charlie received his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern CO in 2020. Charlie’s focus and approach to therapy includes developing a compassionate relationship with each other and providing a safe space where together you can better process and examine experiences, emotions, mental health, and interpersonal dynamics that influence the relationship we develop with substances. Charlie has training surrounding trauma informed addictions counseling techniques where he practices the use of somatic counseling and how to recognize our body’s natural messages and responses in hopes of developing a better relationship with ourselves. Charlie takes into consideration the whole person and all their experiences when working with someone. This means he strongly considers intersectionality of identities and validates the subjective experience that comes with those identities. Charlie is passionate about group counseling where he hopes to help group members connect to each other and feel safe enough to provide genuine and honest feedback to best support each other through their recovery process.
